Who manages a strata corporation?

“All strata corporations are self-managed.” The strata council is entirely responsible for the management of the strata corporation pursuant to the Strata Property Act, Regulations, Bylaws and Rules.

Although professional strata property management brokerages and their agents are often referred to as “strata managers” or “property managers”, they are employed under contract to the strata corporation and are not permitted to do any work or make any decisions about the strata’s management unless stipulated in the contract or under the direction of the council.
