If you can’t find an answer there, the Strata Support Team is available to provide assistance and education in understanding strata life, and interpreting and following the Strata Property Act , to Councils and owners in corporate VISOA memberships as well as to individual members and associate members.
- Assistance to individual members may be restricted to issues and problems regarding their own personal strata lot and is not an acceptable method for seeking information on behalf of the strata council.
- A corporate membership is required to obtain information on behalf of the strata council.
- Assistance to associate members will not include information about a specific strata plan since an associate does not have any vested interest in any specific strata.
- Non-members may receive a response to one question at the discretion of the Support Team, but any further correspondence will require taking out a membership.
The Support Team consists of volunteers who are familiar with the Strata Property Act and experienced in dealing with strata issues. The information provided is their best judgment and should not be construed as either legal or technical advice. For legal or technical advice, you should contact a lawyer or persons legally qualified to give advice within their field of expertise.
The Support Team members are bound by a confidentiality agreement and will not disclose the contents of correspondence or telephone conversations of the enquirer with any other person without the permission of the enquirer, except that the Team members may share such information amongst themselves for advice and quality control.
The administration of this service is paid for by the dues of individual, associate, and corporate members of VISOA. If your membership has lapsed or you are not a VISOA member, you can support the Support Team’s work by clicking on Membership to find out how to join or rejoin.

This service is for members of VISOA, though we may be able to provide a courtesy answer to one question prior to you joining VISOA.
