This is a “how-to-do-it” workshop for council treasurers covering:

  • budget preparation and presentation,
  • financial statement preparation and review, and
  • banking arrangements.

Other topics are:

  • the financial input to depreciation reports,
  • investment of the CRF, and
  • strata insurance requirement.

It is intended for both self-managed stratas and for those which use a strata manager.

The workshop will be facilitated by Cleve Patterson, who is a retired Professor of Finance, a former strata President, and a past member of VISOA’s Board.  He is also the author of VISOA’s publication, “Best Practices for Strata Treasurers”, of “Management of the Contingency Reserve Fund”, and of  VISOA’s STRATACCOUNT accounting package.

The cost for this full day workshop is $50, including handouts.
Participation will be limited to 20.

Please Note:
To secure a seat for this workshop payment must be received.  To instantly confirm your registration use a credit card.  This can be done using PayPal (which accepts your Visa, Mastercard, etc.) when you click on “submit”.  You do NOT need your own PayPal account.  You can then submit the receipt you immediately receive from PayPal along with the emailed registration form to your strata for reimbursement if eligible.  

Cancellation Policy:  With one week’s notice, you may cancel and receive a full refund.  With less than one week’s notice, you may receive a refund less a $25 administration fee.  Refund may be your choice of cheque mailed to you, or credit towards a future workshop. With no notice, no refund is possible.

Should you select to pay in another form (e.g. by cash or cheque at the office Tuesday through Thursday) or mail in a cheque (emailed registration form must be enclosed) you will be placed on a waiting list until payment is received and processed.
